Often associated with chewing gum, spearmint had been the go to herb for home gardeners looking to grow mint. This plant will grow in almost any soil type and needs regular water and plenty of sunlight. Spearmint is a little less potent than its counterpart Peppermint. Spearmint has a great aroma and flavor and is known as being the ingredient for both lamb sauce and in the classic mint julep.
Spearmint will grow to be about 24" tall and does well in Full sunlight to part shade. Spearmint requires an ample amount of water to maintain its growth and also blooms white spikey flowers from summer to early fall.
