Juniperus chinensis 'Gold Star' is a stunningly colorful spreading evergreen shrub. Gold Star Juniper has attractive chartreuse-tipped bluish-green foliage which emerges yellow in spring. The scale-like leaves are highly ornamental and remain bluish-green throughout the winter. The harvest gold stems can be quite attractive.
This is a relatively low maintenance shrub, and is best pruned in late winter once the threat of extreme cold has passed. Deer don't particularly care for this plant and will usually leave it alone in favor of tastier treats. It has no significant negative characteristics. This shrub should only be grown in full sunlight.
