Meet Me in the Garden Lecture series

Don't Feed the Deer | July 29th | 11AM

Just because we enjoy seeing Bambi bound through the forest, that doesn’t mean we want to feed Bambi and her friends from our gardens! Our staff expert can help you select plants and some natural products that will help minimize deer damage to your prized plantings.  Unless you want to install an 8–10-foot fence around your garden, this class is for you!

Instructor: Doug Canan, Bedner's Greenhouse

Doug is an avid gardener, advocate for native plants and in-house deer-resistant planting expert. Doug's pollinator-friendly garden is certified by Penn State Extension and he often shares plant wisdom in the Beaver County Times. Doug was a high school biology teacher in his past life, as well as a health physicist at the Beaver Valley Nuclear Station.
