Description

Full Moon Maple is the common name for Acer japonicum ‘Aconitifolium’. The full moon maple is a small tree or large shrub that often grows in a multi-trunked form. 

This maple is low branching with deeply cut leaves that resemble a dancing peacock. In the summer the leaves are dark green. In fall, the foliage turns a magnificent array of intense colors from brilliant scarlet shading into purple. 

This tree is native to areas of Japan, Manchuria and Korea; tolerates full sun to part shade, and does best in Cold Hardiness Zones 5 - 7.
